Romantic florals, vintage charm, and the sweetest real-life fairytale.

Amanda and Brennan’s wedding was truly the stuff of storybooks. These two are lovers of classic fiction, Disney adventures, Lord of the Rings, and all things renaissance faire, and their celebration at The Richland in Orange felt like it was written just for them. As their Orange County wedding planner, we had the absolute joy of designing a day that honored their love for whimsical tales, vintage treasures, and the comfort of home.

From the moment they toured The Richland, Amanda and Brennan felt instantly connected to the venue. Its inviting, eclectic design and rich color palette (which is exactly the palette in their own home!) felt like their personalities come to life. We leaned into the space’s vintage charm by designing with a muted take on the venue’s existing hues, creating a romantic garden-meets-fairytale feel that blended seamlessly into its surroundings.

The ceremony featured a stunning hanging garland floral installation, which later served as the head table backdrop. It created a lush, enchanted setting filled with color and romance. We used floral-forward centerpieces filled with blush, coral, and mauve blooms, layered in vintage books, soft candlelight, and gold accents for a look that felt collected, dreamy, and filled with heart.

Guests found their seats at our storybook-inspired escort display, styled on The Richland’s vintage Piaggio cart named Guiseppe. We framed the table lists and nestled them among florals, candles, and tiny hanging monocles featuring map prints of meaningful cities from the couple’s love story. It was such a fun, personal moment and a total guest favorite.

Reception tables were dressed in sage green and ivory linens, with alternating napkins and soft, romantic layers. The place settings featured ivory and gold-rimmed chargers, menus designed to look like storybook covers, blush glassware, and gold flatware. The head table felt like a king’s feast come to life, warm and welcoming, and designed to draw everyone in.

And the cake? A true piece of art. Hand-painted with watercolor floral and nestled in a bed of lush garden blooms, it looked as if it had grown right out of the table. It was the perfect reflection of the day’s romantic, enchanted forest-inspired style.

Amanda and Brennan poured their hearts into this wedding, together. He was just as involved as she was, and their love and partnership were present in every decision. Their vision wasn’t about grandeur. It was about joy, connection, and celebrating with the people they love. We feel so honored to have brought their fairytale to life in the heart of downtown Orange.
