A French Chateau Inspired Wedding at Rancho Las Lomas
M and J wanted their wedding to feel like the French countryside without anyone having to leave Southern California. Refined, a little pared back, and warm enough to feel like a real celebration for the nearly 200 guests who came out for it, many of them flying in from the East Coast.

They married in October, so the design leaned into fall: soft grey-blue, layered greens, and creamy neutrals pulled from French chateau palettes. It came together warm and unhurried, exactly the mood they were after.

The Ceremony at La Terraza
They said their vows at La Terraza, one of the prettiest ceremony spots at Rancho Las Lomas. It's set into the hillside and surrounded by forest greenery, with tall trees framing everything and open sky overhead, so the space carries a lot on its own before you add anything to it.
Beautiful Savage Flowers built a lush, rounded floral arch at the altar that felt at home against the wooded backdrop. Behind it, they layered greenery and candlelight up the rustic wooden staircase, which pulled the whole scene upward and gave it a soft garden feel. It stayed romantic and inviting while letting the landscape do most of the talking.
French Chateau, Elevated Minimalism
M wanted an elevated, minimal feel but also loved the French chateau look, and those two can pull from each other a little. So we kept color muted and leaned in on textures instead.
That looked like:
Tuscany textured linens and napkins in ivory and stone
Soft grey-blue accents running through the design
Textured paper for invitations and menus
Earthy stoneware china for warmth
Natural wood crossback vineyard chairs for that French garden feel
Soft cascading greenery placed throughout
Every piece was chosen to work with the architecture at Rancho Las Lomas. If you're drawn to European-inspired weddings around Orange County, this venue makes that style easy to pull off.
An Overhead Moment in El Teatro
The reception moved to El Teatro, the open-air courtyard with the mosaic stage the venue is known for.
An overhead floral installation was near the top of M's list. Since the courtyard is open-air, Beautiful Savage Flowers designed elevated floral stands and ran them down the center of the head table and across alternating guest tables. Each one held cascading greenery, and together they created a canopy over the couple while keeping the courtyard feeling open.
The Details
A few smaller things tied the day together. The invitation suite from Jen Simpson Design used minimalist line art of the El Teatro stage, so the venue showed up in the paper before anyone arrived. And the watercolor floral cake from CocoaBerry Cake Co picked up tones from the mosaic stage, which kept it feeling like part of the room.
A Smooth Day for 200 Guests
With close to 200 people, most of the work was in the flow. A lot of them had traveled across the country, and M and J wanted the day to feel organized and welcoming for everyone who made the trip.
From the ceremony at La Terraza to dinner by 24 Carrots Catering to dancing with VIP's Entertainment, the evening moved without any snags.
M and J are calm, grounded people, and the day looked like them: warm, confident, and easy to be at. Nothing was overdone, and it didn't need to be.
